The Western Washington University Formula SAE team must build a competitive race car within a year and challenge much larger universities in an international competition. Late nights, hard work, and dedication to the race car have kept Western on par with the likes of the University of Washington, University of Michigan, and other larger schools. Viking 59 later placed 10th in the 2018 competition in a field of more than 80 contestants.
